Soch 2017, the Annual Function of Sunbeam Junior School Bhagwanpur was staged with much fanfare at Sunbeam Suncity's Resonance on 19th November. Nearly 600 plus children enthralled the audience with their amazing skills of dance, musical rendition, dramatic expertise and oratory.
The program commenced with the Hall of Fame in which 105 students from classes 3 to 12 walked in holding their glittering trophies and medals of their achievements in various fields and proudly showcased to the world the quintessential Sunbeam Bhagwanpur child. On this backdrop, the Annual report was presented by the Principal Mrs Gurmeet Kaur, Mrs Vibha Rai Headmistress, and Head Boy Sunny Singh and Head Girl Prerna Tripathi of the school. Thereafter, a Hindustani Classical performance Goonj by the school orchestra had the audience spellbound. As introduced by the Astt Director Mrs Pratima Gupta, the theme of Soch 2017 was to find the hero that resides within each individual and to rise above the ordinary through strength and conviction.
The theme was illustrated through vignettes from the life stories of icons of inspiration such as the famous danseuse Sudha Chandran, paralympic mountaineer Arunima Sinha, Mahatma Gandhi, Charlie Chaplin, Thomas Alva Edison to name a few. An especially evocative presentation was the battle of Chittor with Alauddin Khilji fought by Gora Badal in which the valour and pride of the Rajputs was brought alive by the students of classes 5 and 6. Equally noteworthy was the tribute to the Chipko Movement of Sunderlal Bahuguna presented by the tiny tots of the kg section! The vibrance of the costumes and choreography as well as the agility of the students in the Yoga presentations had the audience breaking into waves of applause throughout the program.
The Deputy Diector of Sunbeam Group Mrs Amrita Burman in her address praised the effort of the trainers and the skill of the children in staging a marvellous show and congratulated the parents for their wards' performance. In the closing address, Chairman Dr Deepak Madhok and the Director Ms. Bharti Madhok said Soch truly encapsulated the triumph of the human spirit. They conveyed their special appreciation for the confident compering by the anchors of the show and thanked the patents for making time to witness their childrens performance...the show ended on a proud and happy note for the 600 students whose parents went home humming Jeena isi ka naam hai...the theme song of an evening of success.
