 V for Victory V for Varuna  Varuna

Every great advance in science has issued from a new audacity of imagination. ~John Dewey There was an Inter school Science Fiesta at Smith school on 18 august. Smith's Tech Fest was organised to showcase the hidden scientists in the students of class X-XII. Sunbeam ,varuna made it's presence felt by bagging the first prize in Power point presentation whose theme was global warming.Varuna also got third prize in bio model whose theme was sinle cell protein,spirulina . The model explained how the spirulina could be made to culture on dirty and polluted water and hence making the water clean and side by side usage of the protein which is useful in many ways.

 Well Done Ritika  Annapurna

Adding a beautiful feather to her cap, Miss Ritika Rupani of class V-C had the honour of being with the dance maestro Ms. Saroj Khan in Nach Le which is a popular programme in NDTV. She has successfully cleared two preliminary rounds and reached amongst the best 4 students who were selected from Varanasi for the final audition. Asked about her feelings after meeting the talented choreographer, she was excited and told that it is the most memorable and unforgettable day of her life which she would like to cherish for years to come.

 Horlicks wizkids Activity  Bhagwanpur

Maintaining marvelous record in getting awards Sunbeamians participated in the Horlicks wizkids Activity, India's largest inter-school talent program on 9 August at Nagari Natak Mandali Varanasi. Sunbeam School, Bhagwanpur, with the highest point was declared the OVER ALL CHAMPION as its students were placed among top three in almost every category. Smriti Agrawal emerged ‘THE TALLER STRONGER SHARPER KID OF THE YEAR’. Master Umang emerged victorious as the Wiz Kid, out of 2 Wiz kids of Varanasi. Now he will participate for final round, which will be held in Nov.’08 at Banglore. The School has also won the ‘BEST PLACARD AWARD’ for displaying of colourful & meaningful messages to encourage the participants.

 TECHNOTHLON, the National School Championship  Bhagwanpur

Sunbeam School, Bahgwanpur participated in TECHNOTHLON prelimary round, organized by IIT Guwahati. It was an event for the students of grades 9th -12th with huge participation from schools all over the country. The team consisting of Vindhya Singh, Aprna Rai & Smrti Agrawal qualified for the final round of the Junior Squad. The team consisting of Richa Srivastava, Bhawana Mishra & Dhara Ojha is the only team from Uttar Pardesh to qualify for the final round through the Essay Writing Competition. The final round will be held at IIT Guwahati from 5th to 7th September’08.

 Manya Kochar Memorial Trophy  Bhagwanpur

Manya Kochar Memorial Trophy was given away to Piyush Tripathi of IX D and Ayushi Srivastava of IX E. They also received cash prize worth Rs. 1500/- for their commendable performance in academics and activities given away by Chairman Sir. This trophy has been initiated by Manya’s parents to keep her sweet memory alive. Manya was a sweet & hardworking girl whom we lost in month of April. This will be given to two deserving students of class IX every year. Piyush Tripathi & Ayushi Srivastava both are very diligent & hard working. They are responsible & sincere and now Piyush is the vice captain of Green House and Ayushi is the Stage Manager in the newly elected council. These two promising children wish to conquer the world and reach sunbeam to newer heights.

Winners aren’t those who don’t fail…. They are the ones who never quit. Follow this and you certainly will make your world. Sunbeam Varuna participated in India’s largest Interschool Fiesta- Horlicks Wizkids Acitvity '08 which was held on 9th August at Nagri Natak Mandali. The event featured over 30 electrifying, enjoyable and action packed events for students from 1 to 12 std. This activity is going international, in addition to 19 Indian cities with Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. It belives that by giving an opportunity for children to participate in an interschool event, it is creating a confident, self-reliant and responsible generation that has the ability to Make My World. And when we talk of confidence, Sunbeam is there. Over 35 schools of Varanasi participated where Sunbeam Varuna bagged 10 prizes. Sanchita Chandra and Neel Banerjee made through the semi finals of Wiz Team out of total 8 finalists. Sanchita Chandra emerged victorious as the Wiz Kid ,out of 2 Wiz kids of Varanasi. The event will finally culminate in an International Final at Banglore in the month of November. The winner will win a trip to England for a global youth initiative. Three cheers to sunbeam.

Hide not your talents, they for use were made. What’s a sun-dial in the shade? Mediocrity knows nothing higher than itself, but talent instantly recognizes genius. Proving this to be true, Saumya Trivedi after crossing several hurdles in the form of qualifying rounds managed to get through the finals of the Nachle with Saroj Khan show on NDTV imagine. She stood fourth in the finals of the show where all mighty and talented participants of 6 different cities had performed. She was the only one to represent Varanasi. She was on top of the world when she received the fourth prize by the dance maestro Saroj Khan in the finals.

 Sunbeam School Bhagwanpur RUNNERS-UP in Macfair International  Bhagwanpur

In Sunbeam 'Winning is a way of life'.This maxim has been further enforced by the participants of the three branches – Bhagwanpur, Lahartara & Varuna who came home with accolades & prizes galore from the 8th Macfair International, which was held at CMS Lucknow from 2nd to 6th August. Sunbeam Bhagwanpur got the Runners-Up Trophy among 71 schools from all over India & 7 schools from abroad. Ankit Chaturvedi (X) who got the 1st prize in Cartoon Making was singled out by the judges and has been promised publication of his cartoons & paintings in reputed journals. Smriti Agrawal (X) & Brahmanand(X) got 2nd prize in Maths Quiz and Ashutosh Patel (X) & Vineet Yadav(X) got 2nd prize in General Quiz, after giving a tough fight. The performance of Pious Yadav (X) & Aanya Chopra (X) in Quinterdles & Science Model Making were highly appreciated. Edwin Minz (IX) of Sunbeam Lahartara got the 2nd prize in Cartoon Making and Deepankar & Gaurav (IX) of the same school got the 3rd prize in General Quiz. The participants from Varuna received a lot of applauses for their remarkable efforts. The gravity & difficulty level of the competition can be judged by the fact that there were as many as 680 participants. The Chairman & Director of Sunbeam Group Mr. Deepak Madhok & Mrs. Bharti Madhok congratulated the students for their commendable performance & wished them success in future endeavours.
